Our mission is to help individuals with mental illness achieve and maintain their highest level of personal growth and well-being with independence.

As a Team Lead, you will provide leadership for a team of Support Workers and provide key supports to residents as part of the service team at Our Place and Meadows Place. The homes are set up to support the people we serve who due to histories of trauma and related mental illness and addictions, need enhanced levels of housing support.

What you bring to the team:

Required
 Degree or diploma in the area of human services, education and/or administration
 Police Check with Vulnerable Sector
 Child Intervention Record Check.
 First Aid and CPR
 Medication Administration
 Suicide Intervention
 Food Safety
 Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Recommended
 Mental Health First Aid
 De-escalation Certificate
 Harm Reduction Training
 Cultural Awareness
 Motivational Interviewing
Experience
 1+ year of related direct service work experience working with diverse communities with varying and complex priorities and needs.
 Personal lived experience of addictions, mental illness, racism, discrimination, poverty is an asset.
 Proven ability to foster a team environment.
 Experience working in collaborative partnerships.
 Working knowledge and experience with harm reduction, person-centered, trauma-informed, behavior modification, natural law, strength based, collaborative, and/or solution focused practice.

Important work you will do at e4c:

Resident Care
 Coach and model wellness and self-care practices within the home and with residents.
 Work with Wellness Manager to implement and coordinate resident recreation activities that align with wellness plans.
 Work with Wellness Manager to build community within the house and to develop good community relations.
 Foster a fun and engaging environment that facilitates the exploration of wellness with residents.
 Intentionally communicate and receive information from integrated staff team regarding progress of the residents, significant changes in behavior, and any concerns/challenges that the resident is experiencing.
 When natural opportunity arises, promote conflict resolution, positive communication, empathy and respect (through positive reinforcement, role modeling and supportive listening).
 Work within a framework of natural law/natural consequences and relationship-based practice to implement relevant accountability processes.
 Confidently practice with a vulnerable and genuine relationship-based approach.
 Actively use “self” and own personal wellness as a tool to build reciprocal, authentic relationships with residents.
 Provide support to integrated staff team on engaging residents with meal preparation and clean up.
 Clean and maintain health standards within the facility.
Community Development
 Model positive neighbor relations for residents with the community.
 Maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders and support the Wellness Manager as a point of contact for the community during evening hours.
Administration
 Communicate (verbally or in writing) pertinent information (resident/facility updates, etc.) to the integrated staff team to maintain a safe and productive environment.
 Communicate progress and outcomes related to wellness to the integrated staff team.
 Administer medication for all residents.
 Comply with all legislation, bylaws and standards (health, fire, safety, city, and accreditation).
 Adhere to Human Resource and Program Policies and Procedures in delivering services.
 Support the Wellness Manager with administrative tasks.
 Other duties as assigned.
