Site Manager – Transitional Housing

 As Site Manager, you are responsible for managing the day-to-day program operations for 10 people in two homes, who due to histories of trauma and related mental illness and addictions require enhanced housing supports. You will focus on supporting residents in determining their own motivations, capacity, interests and routines, that help with their daily functioning through harm reduction and trauma informed approaches. You will play a key role in supporting team members including the Life Skills team, Wellness Manager and through regular supervision and mentoring.

 e4c’s transitional supportive housing programs operate on the cycle of the day, drawing inspiration from the recovery motto of “one day at a time”. The model provides wrap-around team staffing that includes in-reach clinical supports from AHS with a community-based approach of recovery and sustained wellness of the resident.

 Hours: Monday to Friday: 9:00am to 5:00pm with potential evenings and weekends work based on residents’ needs including on-call responsibilities.

In Your Role You Will

  • Lead a multicultural team by encouraging and fostering continuous staff development along with identifying staffs’ skills and talents.
  • Offer ongoing mentorship and support to the teams in the areas of nurturing staff conflict resolutions, thus maintaining a healthy work environment at all times.
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team of leaders identifying trainings, supports and resources to improve quality of services.
  • Oversee all areas of facility management and ensure the implementation of leading practices and safety protocols.
  • Maintain standards of practice for the house in alignment with harm reduction, trauma-informed, person-centered, and recovery-oriented practice through modelling and coaching.
  • Debrief and follow-up critical incidents and/or crisis situations in conjunction with staff and others, as required, to provide support, ensure proper protocol was followed, and minimize future incidents.
  • Support teams in their roles; observing performance, recognizing successes, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining appropriate documentation.
  • Engage with community stakeholders to represent, discuss and/or establish collaborations, partnerships, and other services with a view to improve services to residents.
  • Manage program operational cycle and plan service delivery to achieve program goals and outcomes.
  • Recruit, support and supervise team members in collaboration with e4c’s HR department and Site Wellness Manager.
  • Partner with AHS clinical team to ensure successful transition of residents.
  • Coordinate and oversee program data through the management of resident information and documentation, preparation of summary reports, and communication and consultation with stakeholders and relevant parties.
  • Maintain accurate and current financial records that adhere to agency financial practices.
  • Prepare required reports and annual budget projections for effective and efficient program planning and ongoing review.
  • Develop, document, and implement risk management practices across all shifts that align with program values and contract requirements.
  • Maintain accreditation, licensing, evaluation, and accommodation standards.

 Education and Certifications

  • Diploma in the area of human services, education and/or administration. Equivalencies will be considered.
  • Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR.
  • Certifications (or willingness to obtain): Medication Administration, Suicide Intervention, Food Safety.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, Proof of Vehicle Insurance, Registration and 3 year Drivers’ Abstract.
  • Participation in AHS Personal Protective Equipment and You E-Learning Course must be completed prior to employment.


  • 5+ years’ relevant supervisory experience with exceptional leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to foster a team environment and provide reflective supervision to team members.
  • Personal lived experience of addictions, mental illness, racism, discrimination, poverty is an asset.
  • Experience working in collaborative partnerships.
  • Experience and ability to lead/train staff in harm reduction, person-centered, trauma-informed, natural law, strength based, collaborative, and/or solution focused practice.
