Make Tax Time Pay (MTTP) offers free tax services for people who have low incomes, including assistance with applying for government benefit programs.
Where is it?
MTTP is offered at many different community organizations across Edmonton in March and April of every year. (examples: churches, colleges, non-profits)
What is offered?
We do your taxes & help you apply for GST cheques.
We have application forms for:
City of Edmonton Leisure Access Pass
Alberta Child Health Benefit
Alberta Adult Health Benefit
Alberta Child Care Subsidy
Canada Child Tax Benefit
We provide you with information on:
Registered Education Savings Plan (government money for your child)
Registered Disability Savings Plan (government money for people who are disabled)
Benefits for Seniors
Tax services are available in the following languages:
Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Amharic, Somali, Hindi, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Punjabi and Oromo
Who is eligible?
Your income must be equal to or below the following:
Family size Income
1 person $30,000
2 persons $37,000
3 persons $40,500
4 persons $43, 500
5 persons $47,000
Each additional person +$3,000
Who is not eligible?
MTTP does not do taxes for people who are:
And anyone with:
Capital gains (or losses)
Business or Rental income or expenses
Interest income over $1000
Other complex returns
How do I access service?
Call 211 to find a tax site.
211 staff will provide you with the phone numbers for the individual tax locations near you. An appointment must be made to access services.
