Our Leadership

Everyone who works for e4c shares a commitment to improving the lives of people living in poverty and to preventing and ultimately ending poverty. We are here because we believe that the work we do makes a difference and consider ourselves privileged to be able to see that difference first hand.

The e4c team includes professionals who have dedicated their lives to working with vulnerable people. Many of our team members have worked in front-line positions as human services workers, while others are educators, administrators, policy experts and strategists who navigate the orders of government and the non-profit world.

e4c’s employees are the heart of our organization. They are the ones who work tirelessly to connect with people living in poverty and earn their trust. Our front line workers personify leadership in everything they do, as they support and encourage the people we serve with compassion and respect.

Message from Barb Spencer e4c Chief Executive Officer

Whenever I am asked to describe what e4c does, my answer is the same – our work is to change lives and grow communities. We do that by taking the time to listen to and learn from the people we serve and by respecting their personal stories. Their experiences and insights help us better understand the lives of people living in poverty, so that we can create resources and collaborative initiatives that can have a meaningful impact.

e4c works hard to earn and keep the trust of the people we serve because we know they need to feel safe with us before they will be comfortable asking for or receiving the help they need. Integrity is at the core of everything we do and we strive to ensure the promises we make are always kept.

We are grateful for the opportunity to walk with the people we serve and to be able to live in the moment with them, through every step of their journey.
